Is a double major in mechanical and electrical engineering worth the time?

I'm a student at Georgia Tech and I'm currently a mechanical engineering major. I'm considering taking on electrical engineering also. Would this really give me any advantage in the engineering field?

As a manager that hires both, I'd never hire someone that did it as plainly as that. I'd assume that they were either indecisive or mediocre at both. Better to write/submit your own major to the department and rock with that. Robotics Engineering comes to mind. Automation Engineering. Or go all Disneyland if you dare... More

It depends on what you mean by "worth the time". If you have the time, opportunity, and are able to stay in school long enough... go for it. It will definitely make you more employable.
