Could the trail ride really happen? I'm Serious If Anyone Else Is?

So I've got and account on blogspot that I've never used. Don't remember why I signed up, I'm sure there was a good reason. Anyway, I'm thinking I could fuddle around with it and we could make it home base for a Y!A trail ride. I'm up for anything, I've went on benders and woke up 3 states away (once with the horse, don't worry, there was a sober driver involved) Anyway, I'd love to realize my dream of riding out west, especially on my favorite horse who is 15 so I'd like to do it soon. Maybe this fall? Would that give people enough time to plan ahead and make it? I'm thinking early October-ish? My normal fall haunt of a horse camp is closing, I have no plans yet and vacation time to burn at my real job. Possibly we could set up a network for people to pick up trailer-less riders that want to come (if they would be comfortable doing so?) Some friends and I did a similar thing for a trail ride at the Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida 5 years ago and it worked out great, we had a turn-out of about 200 riders just networking through various saddle clubs throughout the Mid-West. We could agree upon a campground and set a weekend (or week) well in advance so everyone could make arrangements. I also have a hook-up with a driver from a horse-transport company and can get discount rates. If I get a response I have the day off tomorrow and will set up the site on blogspot. We could make this happen! Kim-We would totally have a margarita throw-down! Let me know if you are interested! @ Splash- I think all you need is coggins, proof of ownership and health certificate, if even all that. Look at all the horses we send up for slaughter(shame on us), I can't imagine it would take more than that to get on our side.

We'll have that throw down! Or I could leave the margaritas to you and make chocolate martinis. For me, it would really have to depend on when in October since I'm already taking a week off school to go down to the FEI World Games in Kentucky. I'm also one of the people who would need trailering assistance, as I am... More

I am totally in, as long as I don't have any shows around then. I'd probably bring another one of my guys and either pony them with me, or bring someone else with me to ride along... More

I would have to go some through some legal things at the boarder seeing as it would be taking place in the U.S. and I'm in Canada; but if it's okayed by my parents, I'm all in. And if it's not, I'll stick with laluna to bake treats. (:

Yes I would give it serious consideration, I think it would be much much fun. I might even consider...depending on the circumstances... loaning a horse or 2 or 3 for those who can't bring their own

Arrggg. That sounds like a lot of fun. The only problem is that my parents would kill me for even bringing up the idea of meeting strangers in another state to trail ride out into the middle of no where (yeah - I know not literally). Your lucky that you don't have the barrier of parents to get around (wow, this is one... More
