Is Real Estate picking up yet, how expensive is it to get the training to be an agent?

I am grasping at straws here. I have been a stay home mom for almost 13 years. I need a reliable job. I do love decorating and remodeling and I was thinking along the lines of becoming a real estate agent. How long does it take and is the market showing progress? If it matters I am in the central California area. Please don't tell me to do interior decorating. I want something stable.

Most realty companies will give you on the job training. Real Estate salespeople are paid on a commission basis, so the more real estate you buy and sell, the more you get paid. Real Estate is always promising for those involved, if things aren't get you can get a regular office job they are good jobs so most people will have you anyway. Courses/programmes costs vary so I guess check your local college/university out. I think you maybe able to apply for loans or grants or something... More
