Whats the difference between dancers and choreographers?

A choreographer has an idea or concept and picks the music and makes up the steps for the other dancers to do including placement. He is also instrumental in both lighting and costume design. It is his vision that the dancers are doing. He is the dance equivalent of a movie director and writer combined.

The dancers are the people who actually do/perform the dancing. The choreographers are those who make up the dance routine, and control every single detail of the performance and performers. dancers follow what the cheoreographers tell them to [cheoreograph]. Professional dancers arent exactly pro cheoreographers so sometimes they need cheoreographers
