Research on careers and salaries?

I am doing research on careers for myself, I am trying to choose a good path. I am in the field of a Maintenance Technician at the moment. I currently perform installations, repairs and preventative maintenance for HVAC and Refrigeration equipment of all types including rolling coolers and freezers, ice machines, ice bins, HVAC units for heating and air, Electrical work of all types including commercial dish machines, electrical panels, coca-cola machines, lighting, receptacles, and etc. I even do hydraulics and pneumatics, plumbing, gas, and mechanical assembly. I am trying to do the salary research for job titles in my area of expertise for what region of the U.S. as well and considering options because I am still young and what higher pay at a job and job security with benefits. Any tips of advice are welcomed! I want to learn all I can while I can. I am doing research on careers for myself, I am trying to choose a good path. For example: would the best type of work be in HVAC Technicians, Refrigeration, Commercial work or what?
