How can I afford a car and insurance?
I am going into my second year of college and would like a car. I don't have a job. I have applied many places, but no luck. I don't have time during the year to work since I am a full time student, so I thought this summer I could save money if I had a job. My parents can not afford to buy me a car and provide insurance. I just want that independence.

Make time. When I was in college, I took anywhere from 15 to 19 credits a semester. i still managed to find time to work 20 hours a week, do homework, be involved in extra curriculars and go out drinking at the end of the day.

You'll need 20% down and steady employment. You might end up needing your parents to co-sign on this car loan for you. A credit union is the best place to get a car loan. /

Shop around and get the cheapest policy possible. One place I would call would be Allstate. The average driver saves over $396 with them. You can call them toll free 24/7 at 1-877-550-2934 for a free quote. Good luck!
