What should I do about the locksmith who stole my lock?

A locksmith changed the locks on my door three months ago. He, while my infant son was crying, threw my old lock in his bag, took my check, and ran out. I did not realize what he did after my son fell asleep. The company (called Locksmith Bronx) has refused to admit to this guy's wrongdoing. And they guy did a horrible job! They won't even send anyone to fix it, even though they keep saying they would. What should be my next step?
