Is there anything Barack Hussein Obama could have done differently to resolve the Gulf Oil Spill?

Timeline: July 15, 2009: Obama Administration Nominee Susan Elizabeth "Lez" Birnbaum takes the helm at the Minerals Management Service. Winter 2010: MMS Minerals Management Service (MMS) gave BP and Transocean, the owner of the Deepwater Horizon rig, Safety Awards for Excellence –SAFE awards. MMS bestows these on offshore oil and gas corporations for “outstanding safety and pollution prevention performance.” Again this year, BP was a finalist for a SAFE award. After the Deepwater Horizon explosion, MMS postponed announcement of this year’s winners. April 2, 2010: Barack Hussein Obama promotes offshore drilling: "It turns out, by the way, that oil rigs today generally don’t cause spills." April 20, 2010: Transocean rig called the Deepwater Horizon explodes. April 21, 2010: Barack Obama and Michelle Obama welcome members of the United States Olympic and Paralympic teams to the White House April 23, 2010: Obama led Coast Guard states no oil appears to be escaping from the well head on the ocean floor. Barack Obama has done such a good job resolving this crises that he takes his family to Asheville, North Carolina for vacation. North Carolina unemployment is at 11.1%. Joe Biden attends a rally for Sen. Arlen Specter at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport. April 26, 2010: Barack Obama welcomes World Series Champion New York Yankees to the White House. April 27, 2010: Department of the Interior chief of staff Tom Strickland, in charge of the oil spill response, leaves for a "working vacation" white-water rafting at the Grand Canyon, over 1,300 miles west of the oil spill. April 29, 2010: Mineral Management Service calls off luncheon “to present its annual award for exemplary safety and environmental management.” BP among list of finalists after being award by the Obama administration in 2009. Barack Obama attends a DNC fundraising dinner. May 2, 2010: Obama Administration Staff state 16 times on Sunday Talk Shows Obama has coordinated and led efforts to resolve the oil spill from Day One. May 3, 2010: Obama delivers remarks at the Commander in Chief Trophy Presentation with the Naval Academy. May 5, 2010: Barack Obama delivers remarks at a Cinco de Mayo reception. Michelle Obama also attends. May 10, 2010: Obama holds a publically disclosed meeting to review BP efforts to stop the oil leak. May 13, 2010: Obama delivers remarks at a DCCC fundraising dinner. May 14, 2010: Obamaholds second meeting with members of his Cabinet about the BP oil spill. May 17, 2010: Obama welcomes NCAA Champion University of Connecticut women's basketball team. May 19, 2010: Barack Obama and Michelle Obama attend the state dinner. Obama and Calderon deliver a toast bashing America, gringos and American law which both continue to do over the next few days. May 22, 2010: President delivers commencement address at United States Military Academy at West Point stating he has "absolute power". May 24, 2010: Obama participates in the daily briefing call with Gulf Coast governors on the BP oil spill. Obama hosts a reception to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. May 25, 2010: Obama delivers remarks at a fundraiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer and the DSCC. May 27, 2010: Obama welcomes the NCAA Men’s Basketball Champion Duke Blue Devils. Obama and Biden take a photo with former President Bill Clinton and the U.S. World Cup Soccer team. Obama, Biden and Michelle Obama host a reception in honor of Jewish American Heritage Month. Obama has done such a great job resolving the oil spill he and his family depart on another vacation, this one in Chicago. May 28, 2010: Obama heads to New Orleans for 3 1/2 hours, Obama delivers a statement to the press and states he has worked on the oil spill non-stop without rest since Day One and will continue to work without rest until this crises is resolved. June 2, 2010: Barack Obama and Michelle Obama host a concert honoring Paul McCartney. June 4, 2010: Obama welcomes the Major League Soccer champions Real Salt Lake to the White House.

He should have immediately put a stop to all American drilling operations and just gone and invaded some more middle eastern countries to secure our energy supplies. Since the president did NOT manufacture the mechanical part which failed.....there's NOTHING he can could have done it about.
