What sort of competition am I facing when I apply to the NYPD?
I was wondering how much competition should I expect, or if I get treated differently due to my degree. I just got a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from University of New Haven. I also speak Russian and Spanish. Will I be sent somewhere differently due to my degree and languages? Or does everyone start in patrol no exceptions.

Firstly, in order to get into the NYPD, you must pass an entrance exam, be 21 at time of appointment to the academy, and have either 2 years of prior military or have 60 college credits.
