Financial companies are always looking for reps. All you need to do is look at their websites to see the careers they offer.
When getting a financial advisor position, you would need to pass the FINRA exams and there is a short time that you can study and be tested. You cannot do any sales until you are a registered rep and are associated with the financial company and have the state licenses where you will be selling the company's products.
You cannot take a FINRA exam unless you are working for a financial company. As far as finishing the exams there are many exams that you can take depending on what products you want to sell and how far you are planning to advance with the industry.
There is a set amount of sales the representatives are required to do each year. For someone that has a lot of contacts, they can do very well.
I have my Series 6 and 63 which would enable me to sell annuities and mutual funds, if I chose to do so.
The website to get some info is:

Good luck to you! I know companies are always looking for energetic and motivated sales people.
