What is the best way to prevent print jobs from being added to the queue while the printer is being repaired?

This question comes with 4 choices for ONE answer. 1.Send an e-mail to all users telling them to stop sending any print jobs to the printer; 2.Send a network message to all users telling them to stop sending any print jobs to the printer; 3.Unplug the printer from the print server; 4.Stop the print service.

4.Stop the print service For all the other answers, it's still possible to send print jobs to the queue for printing later, but if you really want to stop jobs from being added to the print queue, then you need to stop the print service. Best of luck.

The best option listed above would be to unplug the printer, as then it wouldn't show up. However, that can make testing it quite hard unless you plug it into a single computer. You could always deny printer access to users, which allows you to remain connected. To do this, go to the control panel on an administrator... More
