can i cut plexi glass and use it under my Fish Tank hood to help stop Evap?
I have a 10 gallon tank and it has thoes plastic hoods i like the way it looks. It makes my water evap really quick i was think of cutting plexi and laying it under the hood and have cutouts for the filter, airstone, heater and feeding hole think its a good idea or should i waste my money and buy a glass top and new light...

There would be no harm in making your own plexiglass top, but if the plastic hood doesn't reduce evaporation, I doubt that the plexglass job would be much more effective at reducing evaporation.

If it is not a fluorescent light buy a fluorescent bulb or it for less heat. Plexiglas will help. If it is fluorescent a piece of glass will help. Do not use glass under a incandescent bulb. The heat may break the glass.
