what is exactly the connection between engineering and consultancy?
i am an engineering aspirant and i have seen and heard of a lot of consultancy firms hiring B.E./B.Tech graduates...but i'm not able to understand what the connection is between the two... so basically my query is- why do consultancy firms hire engineers? ty! =]

Companies usually hire from consultancy firms to do design work. It depends on what kind of Engineering you are involved in however consultants are usually experts in federal laws, codes or standards. They design equipment or make sure a company meets the required guidelines... More

In my experience my company has hired consultants to do work that no one at my workplace has the experience in or know how. At my workplace these are often specialized engineering jobs. In reality anyone can be a consultant in any field and it's a really good gig to get into if you are good at it... More
