No, because it's not his job to stop it. And if the global CEO of BP, Tony Hayward, who has 28 years of experience in the oil industry and a PhD to boot can't stop it, how do you expect President Obama to stop it?

no Obama nor BP has not stopped it.. and BP is supposed to pay $20 billion, but with loopholes, settlements out of court and delays up to so many years they have to pay it, I doubt anybody will see any money any time soon.. and if they did BP clears $20 billion dollars in a year so really they won't pay much as... No, how is Obama going to stop an oil geyser? He can't even handle his own job. I think he thinks if he ignores it, it'll just go away. No one knows the real cost of this crisis yet, it's still ongoing with no end in sight.

No, Obama has not stopped the spill. He really has no legal right to do so, since BP is NOT an American company and they were drilling in international waters. All he can do is put financial pressure on BP... More
