PT school s a generalist program. (like medical school) You need to learn all of the specialties and do internships in a variety of clinics. Sports is a very small area. You may want to get an undergrad in athletic training. Once you graduate, you would probably choose to work in an orthopedic clinic. You may then choose to sit for the SCS exam (sports board certification). Most SCS are also orthopedic certified (OCS). Another option is after you graduate is to do a residency or fellowship in sports. PT in itself is a good field. Dealing with the professional teams is very competitive. You will spend more time with the amateur athletes and the weekend warrior. Hopes this helps.
