is it hard to find a job in atlanta?

i want to relocate to atlanta but need a job first. i'm a legal secretary, 9 years experience & EXCELLENT skills. i have excellent reference letters & excellent references. but my resume is a bit "jumpy" bcz i had jobs in NY that were always laying off people & making staff cuts. i was always one of the first to go. would it be hard for me to find a job as a legal secretary in atlanta? can anyone give me advice/suggestions? i'm trying to relocate asap. i am SO sick of new york city. thanx in advance

I work in Atlanta as a paralegal. I think in the legal field you should be able to find a job in Atlanta, even though as a whole Georgia has a higher unemployment rate than the nation. You have experience and that's what they really want. Check out AJC.com. There are many legal job openings here. The pay may not be as good as New York though. There is lots of competition, there are so many schools offering Paralegal certificates and when these graduates cannot find a paralegal job they go for the... More

You are lucky that is a field that there is pretty steady employment -- limited layoffs; however, really no job is safe right now. So keep that in mind.
