Do I need to file form 2106 with my taxes if my expense total is not deductible?

I had about $180 in driving expense, $20 misc, and $60 for tax prep, - All UNreimbursed for a Total $260 which is less than 2% of income. The correct lines 21-27 on Sched A are filled in with the above numbers. Do I need to include a 2106 when filing even though the deduction is $ 0 ? If so, why? Thanks! By the way- I have looked at ALL the IRS instructions, but have not found a clear answer, so please, no responses that just have a link to How about if I changed this to past-tense? If my expenses mentioned above are less than 2% AND were already entered on lines 21-27 on Sched. A, would I have needed to send a 2106 when I filed? Thanks!

Taking itemized deductions is a voluntary choice. You only need to provide the forms to show that your expenses exceed the 2% level... More

Since it's less than 2% of AGI, don't put ANY numbers in the section or include the 2106. Since you can't get any benefit from the 2% misc deductions, the IRS has no need to know that information at all.

the tax preparation is not a business expense and the amount of money you are indicating here would be of little consequence in your total gross less deductions, ie it would not change your tax liability any appreciable amount

No you don't file the 2106. You can if you want to, but it would be ignored.
