How did you learn your electronics skills?

I am self teaching myself electronics and it can be confusing at some points, but I know it can be done, but how did you learn electronics? Did you have teacher? (other than yourself) Self taught by curiosity,or for a living? Do you recommended me to self teach, or to get a teacher? On a scale of 1-10 how skilled are you with electronics?
