i was thinking on buying a laptop and its runnin linux is linux a good operating system?

i dont have any clue what linux is or how it works or if its user friendly all i usually really use is windows.

What use are you going to put it to? I dont mean to be arrogant but my opinion is that for us normal users - Linux is really Open and "Unfriendly" (people who use Windows rarely get along with it).
