Can you give me some adivice??!! I'm planning to become an aircraft mechanic?

Hello, recently I chose my career and I am thinking how to set up the plan. Actually I wanted to major in mechanical engineering but I changed my mind to become an aircraft maintenance technician because I don't enjoy math and physics. I rather love hands on job like car mechanic. But my question is that 1. is it better to go to 4 year university and major in aeronautical engineering than just go to 2 year college that offers Aircraft Maintenance Technology??? is that gonna affect my salary??? IF it does what major should I pick?? I am Korean, and most of Koreans think that diploma from 4year university is essential to get a good job.... 2.Actually I am going to Air Force this november but I could not get aircraft maintenance job.. so I need to spend 3 years doing work that is not helpful to my career and then cross train into aircraft maintenance job. If I get training in Air Force, do I still need to go to college to get the FAA, A&P license????? AND during that 3years, what can I do not to waste my time I am sorry to ask too many questions but I would be really appreciating
