What exactly is computer programming?

I've always wondered what computer programmers do. Is it a boring job? I heard they can work around their own schedules because they work from home.

computer programing is the act of using strips of code, that when used to together, can create games, movies, and other programs. I am a small time programer, here and there stuff.
