What classes should I take in high school to have the best chances of becoming a marine biologist?

I want to become a marine biologist and I need to know the best classes to take for each year of high school to get ahead of all of my competition, because there are about 5 or more people just in my grade that want the same occupation I want. I have also heard that it is a tough job to get because a lot of people want it. Anyway thanks for your answers.

My friend went to school for marine biology and he ended up doing a lot of math and science in college. I would suggest taking as many math (i.e. algebra and calculus) and science (i.e. physics, biology, chemistry) courses as possible. Definitely take AP Calculus and AP Biology your senior year.

High school classes are irrelevant, it's the college courses that will matter. but if you want an answer that will make you feel like it matters, take Biology and Oceanography, they're the only ones with any relevance to what you want to do. Also, the top college for Marine Biology is in Alaska. Saw it on Animal Planet... More

just make good grades and don't worry about it till you get to college. Then choose the right college for what you want to learn... You could prep by taking chemistry and biology. You may not like it. Problem is there are so many lame teachers in high school along with excellent teachers you may get the wrong idea.
