Shouldn’t the unemployed have to pay for their work scan X-rays like everybody else?

LMAO pinball, very funny. In the upcoming Tory utopian NHS, after the unemployed are X-rayed for a days work then why should they get free work scan X-rays when everybody else has to pay for them? Isn’t it time they paid their own way in life? X-rays cost £10 for a digital copy and £30 for a film set. This is only half a weeks dole money. These unemployed get away with too much. Can't they starve for four days to pay for it? C’mon pinball, I gave you 10 points and apologised. What else do you want? I don’t think I was rude to you as my comments show but saying that Labour had bankrupt the country was a stupid and untrue thing to say. If your answer to ‘ Why we cannot even provide free milk for children but can spend money on? ‘ ( see link ) is not offensive, foul-mouthed or rude then I don’t know what is. Truce. http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AgSI.y198EEGjKncagFbIjxJBgx.;_ylv=3?qid=20100808011155AAlN39b We’re not that different except I check a lot of things out for myself. That way I know what’s right and wrong and don’t let myself be manipulated by the media. Most people are not getting “megga benefits” as you put it. George Osbourne in the parliamentary budget committee said that his housing benefit cap of £400 a week ( that seems a huge amount to me too ) would affect only about 5,000 people. 5000 / 2,500,000 unemployed is 0.002. The unemployed never see housing benefit as it goes to the landlords. They’re the real cheats. That a fifth of one per cent. That means that 99.8% of unemployed are not getting ‘megga benefits’. I work hard too but I also know what it’s like to be unemployed. If you’re on your own you get £65 a week. As a couple you get about £50 per week and a roof over your head. You don’t want to be unemployed in the winter. A lot of the time you go hungry. You never buy new clothes. You have three duvets on the bed as if you don’t it’s too cold to sleep. You don’t go anywhere as you can’t afford to. You always have candles for when the electric runs out. You lose contact with your friends as you can’t afford any sort of social life. You can’t afford job-searching. There’s no help and it’s an awful trap. You look forward to the summers when it’s warm. I’ve never known anyone on benefits who wasn’t in poverty. If you’re in London and on your own you can’t work for a minimum wage. £232/week and after your taxes is on average £212/week. Cheap rent is £175, travel to work is £49/week, gas, £10, electricity £10 and council tax is £20 per week. That leaves you with minus £50 a week. Are you seriously telling me that you’d work for someone when it’s costing you £50 a week i.e. you’d pay someone £50 a week to work for them before you feed or cloth yourself? I dunno, maybe you would. I wouldn’t. I look for a ‘living wage’ as Labour put it. Labour were raising the minimum wage this year to £7/ hour increasing by £1/hour/year til 2013 when it would be £10 an hour. That seems to make sense to me. I would have liked to see how many unemployed there were when minimum wage was £10 / hour. That’s radical. That’s the sort of brave thinking that’s needed but as you voted Tory you’ll probably be stuck on £211.80 per week for the foreseeable future instead of £400 a week in three years time. Of course you could argue that you’ll still have a job. That’s the argument that the Tories trotted out in opposing the minimum wage when Labour said they were going to have one. Fortunately they were proved wrong and it’s been shown now that the minimum wage has actually helped create employment. Kernow lady – a work scan X-ray is pinball’s hilarious idea of X-raying the unemployed to see if there’s a day’s work in them. LOL. Sorry, I forgot – respect to you pinball and your kind but I’d say study the detail behind the headlines, thanks for your answer and be glad of your blessings when you have them. Well there you go pinball, you’ve milked t********s off me once again. Lol I think you’re right and wrong. You’re right about unemployment but it has to be viable. There’s no point in getting into debt, there’s enough workers doing that themselves with instant credit. You can’t blame the unemployed for that. They don’t have access to credit, with no credit history. The financial crisis ( I hate the ‘credit crunch’ term ) after all was caused by the bankers and the employed gorging themselves on credit they couldn’t pay back if things went wrong. Yet somehow it’s the unemployed who end up getting the blame!! Elephant’s Child – a politician’s truth X-ray. Now there’s an idea everybody can agree on.
