How do you become a security guard?
I am a part-time college student and i am interested in a job doing security. The type of security job where you wear a uniform and have a radio, and flash light. They pay 15$ an hour and everytime I try to apply for a security job they say that you have to be an experienced security officer with a certification card. I just want to be the "rent a cop" kind with no gun and no past experience. Does anyone know what company I should apply to? Is there any Houston area security companys that hire un-experienced security officers?

This means the company isn't wanting to do the required training. This doesn't surprise me because with unemployment as it is there are plenty of people out there that already have the required training and can be hired without the expense of training.

In most cases, you must have specific training and be... More
