Why do people continue to think Reagan was a good president when he created what we have now?

Reagan sold out America. He exported our jobs oversees thru his free trade initiative. Destroyed unions and the middle class and created the seeds for American oligarchy. He started our exorbitant debt by giving tax breaks to the rich without reducing spending (esp. military spending). His tax breaks serve the same thing as deficit spending when spending isn't reduced. Reagan was the pits. When will people wake up to this fact.

Actually Clinton got us into this mess by forcing banks to loan money to people who couldn't pay them back. Regan created 20 million jobs, lowered inflation and unemployment, had the largest peacetime economic growth ever, created doubled revenues to the government with the tax cuts, and won the Cold War. Dont blame Reagan. He was a great president. Remember he started the largest period of economic growth in the history of the country. Its the demy's fault. Notice the economy tanked when they took over congress in 2006.

And yet it was Bill Clinton who signed NAFTA and our trade deal with China.. go figure.

I am not sure where you are getting your information from , but he did none of those things. Clinton, with NAFTA and creating the sub-prime mortgage practice, did far worse.

I agree with you. I wrote in my journal the day after Reagan got elected that the world was going to blow up the next day...because even at 15 I could see through his lies. I refuse to call the National Airport anything but that...even though technically it's the Reagan National Airport. Yuk.

They DO worship at the altar of Reagan. And I also heard that Nancy Reagan initiated the meeting with Gorbachev, so that he would have a greater legacy.
