Can you be philosophically libertarian?

Is there a name for being philosophically libertarian? What I mean is, I treat my decisions and values with a libertarian philosophy (people should be able to do as they wish) but I know a libertarian/anarchy system would never work, so I have other political views. Is their a name for being philosophically libertarian but not actually supporting a libertarian government/lack of government? Pearberr, slightly off topic, but could a Libertarian government actually work? I know I'd like it to, but the problem is people will always be willing to kill and hurt others, as much as I dislike them we do need some laws, no?

I share the same idea as you. I am for liberty, but have conflicts with some of the creed, even the matter you mentioned. I would call it what you have or, individual libertarianism.
