Is it likely for me to receive a Federal Job if I join the Peace Corps?

Is that a logical thing to occur? For one to join the Peace Corps and be able considered for Federal Job like analyst or agents or anything in that nature. Basically is that common for people to do that? Lol I dont even really know how to word this question, anyone with experience please help lol.

It's not likely so much as a step in the right direction. And that only pertains to working in one of the international development arms of the federal government. No, it is not logical. Returned Peace Corps Volunteers get non-competitive status for 12 months after close of service (it can be deferred in the event of grad school) BUT it is primarily useless. (That's a quote by my Peace Corps supervisor at the close-of-service conference... More
