It's about the Gilded Age Among many other events, monopoly between the politicians and businessmen led to the succession of the economy. In the political world, major development occurred, due to patronage, giving of government jobs to people that helped elected a candidate; however, was changed because of reforms, such as low tariffs, low taxes, and free market. The development in technology had a major change, due to the industries that the wealthy businessmen created. Wealthy business men such as John D. Rockefeller and Andrew Carnegie had a big impact on the industry, which led to the major development in technology. : The advantages of technology can have many benefits such as, huge amounts of people interested in a particular business, economic in the business, group of people working for a respectable amount of money. Rockefeller gave away over $500 million dollars to establish the Rockefeller foundations and provided sufficient fund for the University of Chicago. Corrupted government and scandal outbreaks in the political world during this era led to divided political parties with different interests of reform. “The newspapers are largely subsidized or muzzled, public opinion silenced, business prostrated and the land concentrating in the hands of the capitalists”. Newspapers show that the public other then the wealthy business men have no opinion, and that the public poor works while they become poorer and the wealthy business men get richer by doing nothing. Wealthy business men such as John D Rockefeller earned huge profits by paying his employees awfully low wages. The rich become richer and the poor become poorer. During the late 19th century, Mass consumption arrived in the Gilded Age. political machines were organized, monopoly ties between politicians and wealthy businessmen became stronger, which eventually led to the succession of the economy. The industrialization grew significantly as the railroads were being produced. Steel production was needed for rails, bridges, buildings and ships. It helped make steel fueled demands for the raw materials needed. The railroads were able to transport raw materials to factories and finished products to market. Steel was needed for the rails, and then bridges, buildings and ships. Better ways of making steel fueled huge demands for the raw materials needed. As factories churned out more that costed less, more products could be sold to more people.
