What kind of degree and major do you need to get a job with a company?

So if you just want a regular office job with a company, what kind of degree and major will you most likely need? I know its not gonna be a specific degree and specific major, but can someone give all the examples they can think of?

I have a relative with no degree - manages multiple food accounts with a huge product line. Wanted to change companies and found one that has ONE product but demanded a degree and it didn't matter what the degree was in. Go figure that.
