How will the immigration supporters explain this one?

Five possibly six Algerians working in London have been arrested for plotting to kill the Pope. These men are employed,by the government/council (as subcontractors) to sweep the streets. They are described as "North Africans" ergo they do not hold UK citizenship. The excuse that we keep hearing for allowing immigration,is because the UK needs skilled workers. I maybe being callous, but it does not take a great deal of skill to sweep a street. Why have our immigration people allowed these men into the country to take a job that any home grown fool could do. We have over 2 million people here, who are unemployed, any six of them could have done the jobs that the arrested men are doing. As a nation,we are never going to get out of the mess that we are in,if we are giving the easiest jobs in the land to immigrants. Our own unemployed should be forced to take on this work and immigrants should not be permitted to take a job that any UK citizen can do. The political/religious/terrorist connections of the arrested is another question that needs to be carefully examined by the immigration authorities @ Albert Einstein was not taking a job from a UK citizen,if he was doing a job that any unemployed idiot could do,then yes,i would have removed him.

This must be the type of people Vince Cable was talking about. How putting a cap on immigration, to prevent people like these getting into this country, is harming British industry is beyond me... More

I don't understand what needs to be explained. Some people were caught planning something illegal. This time, they happened to be immigrants. Next time, they might not be. I can't really say that I see your point. Albert Einstein was an immigrant. Would you have turned him away?

They will accuse you of being racist and say these men have been set up and maybe have a demo outside the Home Office

You have spotted the danger. There are at least around 2 million of these 'sleepers' now in the UK. These 6 were activated too early it seems.

Ah I see, you've seemingly confused general low / non skilled immigration with skilled / educated immigration as you appear to anti immigration and supporting this by using these 6 non skilled workers as a basis for your argument. The latter we often need, the former, pretty much everyone agrees we need to cap or halt... More

Well, at this point in time, it is still only an accusation, but I can understand your point! It is very sick making to constantly hear of non Brits trying to harm us in some way, why? I'm not sure what your issue is? Is it: 1. Foreign nationals are criminals? or is it 2. Unemployed Britons should be forced to do menial jobs?

Except you forgot to mention that many of your so-called unemployed would not sweep the treet because it is not COOL to sweep the streets and you cannot force people to do certain kind of work (that would be discriminatory) in a democracy.

The first act of a coward is to deny that there's a problem. The British people are totally spineless. Its no good pointing anything out to them. they would sooner avoid the trouble, even if it means handing a living Hell for their children to sort out.
