Should I chase my dream or is it too late?

Sorry if I posted this in the right category. Ok. So I've always dreamt of being a singer. Growing up, I lived with my mom in a little trailer in the country. She was usually at work most of the time while I was at home by myself. I usually spent my time in my room singing along to all my mom's CD's. I eventually got my own CD's and I went from singing Heart and Lynard Skynard to Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. I began to sound really good but being as poor as we were I never really got the chance to show my talent anywhere but at school. Right when I started high school we moved to another town with my mom's boyfriend. Suddenly I was living in an upper class private residential community and no longer trailer trash. It didn't last long for me though, my mom and I had our battles and it finally ended with her kicking me out (got off the bus to find a note on the locked door). I was 16 going on 17; no I didn't fight it, I just left. What's the point? She never really acted like a mom it was like I was just an obligation to her. Long story short, after my mom let me get my stuff, I ended up moving in with my boyfriend, ended up getting pregnant, and we moved away together. I still struggle with issues of not really having parents that care and it hurts even more that I know what its like to be a parent myself. I could never do to my kids what my parents did. But through all of this, music is what has kept me going. I am okay with my life as it is but of course there is that thought of "what if" going through my mind. I never really tried to succeed at singing professionally and that was always my dream. I think I am going to try anyway. Lately I've had a very strong impulse to move away from Ohio and pursue music in Nashville. I like all music, i'm not kidding. I've got Britney Spears next to Marylin Manson and Jay-Z lol. But as I've grown my taste in music has settled to country. I'm 25 years old, my kids are school age now, and I've got a good-paying job as a medical transcriptionist which I do from home with no particular schedule. The best part about my job: I can travel. My boyfriend's job can't go with him but hopefully with his experience in construction/excavating he can find one. He supports me all the way. He also has family in Tennessee so we could stay with them until we get our own place. We have 13 thousand saved up in the bank which would be used as a down payment on a house. I just want to pack up the kids and go. Even if I don't make it I will still have more opportunity to do what I love there than here. I was just curious of what others opinions are on this? If you can give me any advice what would it be? Thank you so much!

If music is what keeps you going, then let it go a little longer. Try uploading youtube videos instead. 25 years old is young, but you have kids, and as an adult, a... More
