Should I become an airline pilot?

I've always wanted to become an airline pilot since I was a child...I'm extremely into aviation, and would love the idea of being a commercial pilot, but there are worries I have. I'm a senior in high school and need to decide what major I should go into...Any suggestions? Also, how is the outlook for commercial pilots? I am getting my licenses privately because money is not an issue here, but I am worried that after many years of getting my licenses that I will end up jobless or furloughed. Thanks for your input!
