Becoming a third world nation?

Do you think the US is becoming a third world nation as this article suggests http://www2.macleans.ca/2010/09/14/third-world-america/ Did the religious right play a major part in this happening Think rejection of science, inteligent design, religion supporting the republican party and corporatism.

Yes, because were still living in 1950's Plesantville compared to the rest of the world, in business, industry and education. While the rest of the world, works and runs 24/7 in business and industry. Here in the USA were 9-5 Monday to Friday, and closed down for religion on Sundays... More

From where I live I don't see it becoming a third world. And I don't think religion has anything to do with it unless its the fact that praying doesn't always help. You gotta get out there help.

the us cant beome a 3rd world nation because of the definition of the word 1st world = United Nations (US, England, Australia ect) 2nd word = Soviot Russia (Where eerything is backwards) 3rd worlds = Everybody else. poor countries by default

yes we are and it is from the lack of Christian values. we as a nation don't want to take a hard line on any moral platform. it's a lot easier to say live and let live but unfortunately being pc is going to be the end of this great nation.
