Why do we allow corporations to spend money freely on elections?

It honestly makes no sense to me that a special interest has the right to influence an election. How can this possibly be justified? Do people really think corporations should have the same rights as us humans?

since a "corporation" is SOLELY responsible for the LIVES of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of individuals, yes. There are federal election rules that prohibit this. Yet much of Clinton's and Obama's funding came from foriegn sources. Go figure.

UNFORTUNATELY the supreme court ruled they could. it was a case that should NEVER have bee brought up it clearly was a ruling to allow big money to buy american (votes not production)
