Philosophy majors usually go to law school or teach philosophy in a college setting

With a masters or phd you can teach at a college, which pays decently well. Apart from that you can write books, which is pretty iffy.

One of the requirements to major in philosophy or to get a degree in philosophy is to pass courses in logic. That seems to be needed by many these days.
