How is Washington going to be any different now that Republicans have the House?

It's not like they can get anything passed. They'll just have greater power to block legislation like they normally do and even less will get done. Perhaps this will give Dems greater incentive to compromise, but when have Republicans ever compromised? Conservatism is all about my way or the highway.

We are in serious economic crisis that's been a good 30 years in the making. Some areas of the country have as high as 25% unemployment, and black males have 40% unemployment nationwide. We're not going to recover from it in 2 years, or 4, or even 8. If we don’t have sustained good leadership over the next, say, four... More

A wise man once said "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." If this is true, why are we perpetuating the insanity of this two-party system? Why don't we get some independents into office so maybe we can find a good middle ground and get something done for a change? People... More

That is what will change. Before we could get legislation passed, now we won't. The Representitives might as well not even show up for the yelling matches and fillabusters.

If any thing gets done it will be by accident or as a result of a crises. If we get hit 9/11 style again, you bet somthing will happen in Washington. Nothing deliberate, just some show of force, whos cost wont be an issue for at least a year.

Republicans will do what they can to make Obama look bad. Their first interest is not Americans. They want power and money. Control. Unfortunately, the Religious Right dominates the Republican party and is fighting to make the US a Christian Theocracy. This is a greater threat than the USSR was.

Their going to start running pointless investigations on Obama to make him look like a s*****g like they did Clinton. (Granted, he was a bit of a slimebag, but not as much as most people think he was.
