Question for Ultrasound or Echocardiography technicians?

I have a question about the nature of the job- For those who have been doing either one of these for a long amount of time or even for a few years, have you experienced any health effects? Like musculoskeletal disorders or eye problems, etc??? And if you have are they treatable problems?? Thanks!

Ultrasound is much more strenuous than you would imagine - you are scanning with the same hand all day every day, often pushing down for clearer images, not to mention moving patients around/transporting/etc. The most common complaints I've heard are musculoskeletal: wrist, neck, and shoulder pain. Generally, the effect of being a sonographer of any sort is the simple physical toll from situations that are less than ergonomic.
