Are nursing jobs in demand anymore in the United States anymore?

I was wondering if nursing jobs are still high in demand in any of the states,because where I live is a small state, with a lot of schools, and not many job opportunities for a nurse.

It does depend a bit; but even nursing jobs are not a dime a dozen, where everyone gets snapped up. There were only 3 jobs in the sunday paper (down from a full page a few years ago) where I live.
