What type of volunteer work looks good when applying for a job?

I'm 19 and I've applied for jobs but none have accepted me because I have no work experience. I have volunteered but I guess it wasn't enough. So now I'm going to start volunteering again but what type of volunteer work should I do so it looks good on my resume so I can get a job? Also how much volunteer work should I do for it to be enough?
