Take them all up. Kingspan insulation and then new wood floors. It will never pay for itself don't bother just turn up the heat.

If you are laying a floor above the present floor just use rolled polystyrene or if you are lifting the floor then use 1" polystyrene boards. Hope this helps..............

More info please, if it is the original floorboards and there is space below, then lift the boards and fit cut foam between the joists below, using netting or something to hold it in place,but if it is under laminate, then it's a whole other story! If you can get underneath it I would put ridgid PIR insulation panels between the joists. Seal any gaps with expanding foam. I have done this for a flat roof rather than a floor but the principle is the same. Don't buy the insulation sheets from B&Q, you will find them cheaper from your local builders merchant.
