Should i be a claims adjuster?

I am an insurance producer and want to get to know other aspects of the insurance industry. I was thinking of becoming a claims adjuster but i would first like to know more about the work itself. How flexible is it? Approx salary? Is it better to work for a company or be independent? What is the day of a claims adjuster like? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
