Please be aware that there aren't supposed to be too many jobs for the radiologic technologist which used to be referred to as 'x-ray technician(or many jobs for the 'diagnostic medical sonographer' which used to be referred to as 'ultrasound technician'). Regarding physical therapist assistant (PTA), before taking prerequisite courses, please job shadow/observe those in the various departments such as a physical rehabilitation hospital that treats people with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), spinal cord injury/paralysis, stroke ("brain attack") which is a type of brain injury, patients with an amputated limb, shoulder/hip/knee replacement or such - pediatric hospital - nursing home/long-term care facility.
The job of a PTA is supposed to be physically as well as mentally draining. For general career info:

With schooling, please forgo those private overpriced for-profit tech schools and also the online, for-profit schools (though may be 'accredited' and may have 'brick and mortar' buildings) such as penn foster, ashworth, devry, university of phoenix, sanford brown, argosy, capella, ITT tech, kaplan, aiu, high tech, regis, ashwood, colorado tech, remington, walden, ashford, grand canyon and others as they are merely out to 'make a profit' (and course credits may NOT transfer to other schools). These consumer sites have negative posts by former students of those private/online, for-profit schools:

For accredited programs in PTA:
