How important is experience to an employer?

Once candidate has ten years of experience with the company. One is a younger girl with several years of customer service experience. Neither have experience in management. Who would you hire for a supervisory position? Why? The position has an extensive six week training period. What they dont know, they learn.

Experience is super important but connections are the most. I'd hire the one with 10 years of experience...a bonus is that the experience is with the company.

I wouldn't hire either of them without more information. What is the particular management position? Does it deal with lots of customers or is it purely in-house? That would make a big difference.
