How can I copy software from an old laptop?

The laptop is a Sony Notebook Computer model # PCG-9211. It's Microsoft, Windows 98, second edition. This laptop is at least ten years old. It has an old version of an online Risk game I want saved to the desktop. It won't read burnable cds or flash drives, and with a closer look at the 'help' section, it appears that the USB will only accept corded mice. My only hope is a floppy disk, which I don't have. Also, this laptop doesn't have internet connection anymore. Can anyone tell me where and how I can find something to transport the old Risk game to my new laptop?

Easiest would be to get your old hard drive out, buy an external enclosure (also called caddy) & connect it to your new one over USB 2.0... More

There are some software programs that you can buy which will find all the files from the old software and install it on a new machine. That said the program may be too old to work on a new machine The best thing for you to do is try and find a modern version and install that or just forget it.

how about using a network connection. Windows98 2nd edition supports TCP/IP and Microsoft NetBios. this will allow transfer of everything from the Viao.
