Can people get a job in the health field if they have a contagious disease?
I have Hep B and I'm planning on going to school for ultrasound in July. But would it even be worth paying all that money for school if I wont be able to get a job because I have this disease? I mean, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be handling any needles or anything to cut myself. Or does that not even matter and I just wont get hired anyway? Please help, what are my options?

For ultrasound, where you are just running a scanning wand over a person, I believe that it will be ok. Hep B is transmitted thru close contact. As long as you don't mind, ask the school regarding this. Also, if you know the ways Hep B is transmitted you could avoid this type of contact in all situations not just... More

It's contagious via the blood, not food or water. Unless, your "typhoid mary" you should be ok. Don't beat yourself up, eventually the viral load may subside; that is if you're not immunocompromised.
