How do I become a veterinary assistant or vet tech?

What is the difference between a vet tech and a vet assistant? What education do I need to enter this specific job field? If any of you have experience in these fields, do you like this job? What are the pros and cons of working in the veterinary field?

A vet tech is a person who has completed at least a 2 year college degree and has taken a board exam to be registered in the state that they are working in. Vet techs perform a variety of medical procedures in a vet clinic. The only things that they cannot do are perform surgery, prescribe meds and diagnose illnesses... More
