How do you explain that a man with no airplane drew a map of Antarctica in 1531?

Thousands of years ago, Antarctica was not ice, but instead it was land. Some person (not entirely sure who) drew an areal view of Antarctica which scientists nowadays believe was only visible from a satellite view. So how was this person able to draw the land when back then airplanes did not exist??? How can it be possible?? Here is a picture of the map : To "Lesa"- you did not even answer my question...thanks for nothing : (
