How do I dress for an interview during the winter time?

I have a job interview as a companion to an eldery at an agency. it snowed here yesterday about over 12 inches and it's cold. I was about to wear black pants, black shoes, gray shirt with a white cardigan and a black wool coat over it. i know i dont have to take my coat off. is this appropriate?

Unless you are being interviewed in the great outdoors, it would be in bad taste to leave your coat, hat, scarf, or gloves on. However, your conservative and warm choice of black dress pants with shirt and sweater is totally appropriate for the type of job you are interviewing for. Best wishes!!
