I'm 16 and pregnant with twins! Any Advice?

Hi, My name is Nicole and i am 16 years old. I am almost 6 months pregnant with twin girls. My boyfriend, Aaron is also 16 and is totally supportive and loving and is totally in the picture and we can't wait for our girls to be born!

The doctor also told me and Aaron our babies look a little smaller than other single babie sand even twins because something with my belly just makes all babies
My mom is very supportive of me having these babies and is financially helping us out when we need it which is great and we appreciate. We decided to move out and now live in a 800 dollars a month 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment which we love. Aaron works alot so we are able to pay gas, groceries, rent, clothing, cellphone bills, telephone bills and cable bills our selves and my mom helps us out sometimes.

Here is a story you might think is crazy. My dad has never been a part of my life, he knows i'm alive and in this world he just has never seen me. Aaron's mom died when he was only 5 and he is still upset over that today which i appreciate about him. Well me and Aaron met when we were just eleven and we had crushes on each other. We began to secretly "go out" when we were twelve and by the time we were 14 we came out and started actually going on dates and stuff publicly. By the time we were 15 we were havng sex about once every week or two weeks. Our eleventh time we had sex we were both horny and got too into it to think about condoms and being protected and we had unprotecte dsex for the first time and it was great. But about a month after i found out i was pregnant. I told my mom and she was kind of embarrased and really suprised but totally supportive and okay with it. Me, aaron and my mom went to get an ultraound and we found out i was pregnant with twins. I was thrilled, my mom was shocked and aaron suprised but happy. We moved out and got our drivers license and bought a car and are very happy together. So just to let you know me and aaron are step brother and step sister. When we werw 14 my mom and his dad met and starting dating a month later. The fell in love and 6 months later they were engaged. When me and aaron were 15 they got married and that's when we got pregnant a couple months later.

We are planning on naming our daughters Lily Sophia Tameron and Lia Stephie Tameron. (Tameron is our last name and Sophia and Stephie will be there middle names and Lily and Lia will be there first names inc ase you didn't know) Me and Aaron are not married but engaged and we plan on getting married later maybe when we are 25 or so.

I have brown hair and brown eyes and Aaron has brown eyes and brown hair so we think our girls will also have brown eyes and brown hair. We hope? What do you think?

Aaron works alot now but 5 weeks before my due date he's going to stay home with me in case i go into labour and once the babies are born he's going to stay home the first month with me to let me rest and help with the babies during the night and day and it's great bonding time i've heard.

Please tell me what you think of our plan and if you have any advice on how to take care of two babies it would be greatly appreciated. I want to hear how it was taking care of twins or single babies the first couple of weeks during the day and nights. We would love to hear tips and suggestions and if you have any questions, concerns or comments feel free to say so. We love to hear everything! I would also like to know what you think of our baby names and if you have any other suggestions for bbay names go ahead and tell me!
Thank you so much!
~Nicole(with Lily and Lia in my belly)

Is it just me or does this story sound like a compilation of several girls from MTV's 16 & Pregnant??
Kaitlyn & Tyler are step-siblings, Leah had twins, Kailyn never knew her dad

Anyways, I had twins when I was 19, they are 9 now. Here's my thoughts:

- throw your plans out the window 'cause that's what happens when you have kids, you and Aaron are gonna fight and get on each other's nerves like you never thought possible and either break up or come pretty close to it many times! parents of multiples have a much higher rate of divorce, and that's when they're married to begin with and pregnancy was planned!
- twin names suck, ask anyone who is a twin and they will tell you. twins have enough problems developing their own individual identity when most people see them as a pair or half of a whole, they don't need matchy-matchy names on top of it.
- what are your plans for your education? kids are rediculously expensive! the only reason I've gotten as far as I have is because I have a college education.
- part of being a grown up is not relying on your parents for a hand-out whenever you're in trouble. living paycheck-to-paycheck is not fun, people suddenly lose their job or have their hours cut all the time, your car will break down, rent will increase, I went through 4 double strollers in 3 years and they're not cheap! you sound like you're just getting by right now and you haven't even had to pay for diapers + baby clothes yet. hopefully you plan to breatfeed, but what if it doesn't work out? formula is very expensive. babies get sick and need medicine. h*********u guys able to afford Aaron taking upto 9 weeks (you said 5 before + 4 after) off work with no pay?

I'm not trying to scare you, but you sound like you think everything is going to be perfect, easy and smooth-sailing, and that's just not the way life goes. You need to be prepared for the bumps!

I'm just curious as to how you were able to sign a lease for an apartment being that you're both only 16?

I have identical twin girls expect to have NO sleep for the first year

And if he's planning on taking off 5 weeks before your due how will you continue to pay your rent and bills?

And no offense but you're pregnant by your step-brother? I realize there's no blood connection here but wow

I just re-read this and you're living in a fantasy world here! You have NO idea what its like to care for one baby much less 2 - him taking all that time off from work? For what? You will most likely have a C-Section since its twins and this will be scheduled - babies are expensive and even more so when there's 2
Answered By: Invisible Pink ~ RN - 12/30/2010
You only need one crib to start with, until they grow some. Plan to have everything ready early, because mothers of twins are often put to bed before 7 months.

CONGRATS! being a mom is the best job in the world. best wishes!
Answered By: Shar N - 12/30/2010
My best advice would be to have a back up plan. Babies are more expensive then you probably realize and one of you guys (preferably both) have to go to college to get a good job so you arent living off your parents forever. Think about getting your GED NOW (too busy to think about once babies are born) and start planning the college route.

For two babies, it is about being organized and multitasking. Take shifts. Good Luck

Wow! Can't believe I read all that! :)

It's great that you are showing responsibility and taking care of yourself and your babies on your own. Keep it up!

Advice: Don't wait until your 25 to get married. Why?

Also, him taking 5 weeks off before baby is due is a complete waste of time. He could be making more money for you and the babies. When its time, it's time, and 1st time moms are usually in labor a long time so there's nothing much he can do.

Good luck!

Step bother and step sister?

Sounds like you're pretty prepared... but when the babies come things are going to change- no sleep, more stress.

Good luck with everything, glad you're not like most other knocked up 16 year olds

Anyone who got pregnant, when did you begin your maternity leave and for what type of job? I have heard it all depends on the type of job one has. Also, do you get any sort of salary during maternity leave or only in some jobs? Thank you in advance!

I am in a long-term relationship, and we both work good jobs. We have never had to depend on each other for money, or put our funds together for anything. Found out we are pregnant, how do you start a discussion about partner helping financhially with prescriptions, co pays, and other expenses? I don't want to seem driven by money, but I know it is a conversation that we must have before more expenses begin to arise. I want to do it as caring and tactfully as possible, without offending him like he isn't doing anything.

So today I went in for an interview and I was going in for the 2nd interview by the head chief executive. now this is where it got weird, so she asked me about my previous jobs and said how much she liked that product over that product. then she started talking about her daughter? an her divorce ...then how she didn't finish college because she was making more money doing what she did for this company ... then she talked about how her teenage daughter is a handful... I just played it cool thinking she was using some sort of psychology thing to trick me into saying something stupid. the interview ended and she seemed happy an I was escorted to the door... now I'm freaking confused? is this normal behavior for an executive? like it felt like she was going to burst into tears at one point and tell me her life problems... is this normal? was she trying to see how I react or something?

Basically- no degree, although I have tried completing one in the past and stopped because of physical and mental health issues which were overwhelming to deal with along with going to classes full time. I'm not stupid and I am quite articulate. I am 23 and have only worked for about two years retail in high school and stopped working to go to university. I worked a few months in 2010 retail after I dropped out but it was only a seasonal position, and the only reason why I have not been able to constantly work is because of mental health issues. I had also tried going back to community college during my free time since i left university in 2008/9 and I had panic attacks while in community college, which made my anxiety worse from then on. Well recently I met a good doctor and he prescribed me some meds that are stabilizing my moods and I feel the best I've felt in years, and I'm ready to work. Thing is, I don't know how to get a job now since I've spent literally years being depressed and anxious doing nothing. I don't really have anything to put on my resume, and I never finished my AA degree either. All I've done is cashiering and although I do the job well and I get promoted easily when I do these jobs because I'm a hard worker and I try to go above and beyond what they ask of me,which is the attitude I have no matter what kind of work I'm doing as long as I'm getting paid. But I hate cashiering because it's too easy and I want a job that is more interesting. Any suggestions for me on how to get a job that is NOT Retail with the type of background I have right now? I also realize I have to go to college to get certain types of jobs, I am talking about what I can do right here right now.

Recently I have overlooked for a project at work and I am unable to accept it why? I am hard working, dedicated, maintain a very professional decorum, very cordial with my colleagues and bosses, give respect to one and all. Still people who take the p***, argue with managers, gossip mongers have been selected for some very responsible positions at work. I seriously can't get my head around it why, why unprofessional people who have no work ethics being selected over me, whereas I have a track record of excellent performance and never shy away from any work my manager ask me to do? I am at my lowest point and not getting hold of my manager to ask the question why not me, why them who can't even bother? I am feeling like a complete loser, giving years to this place, building my performance, trust and this is how I get rewarded. Why my life is so shit, anything I wish for turns to dust?

I've said I am willing to work weekends public holidays everything and I have gotten nothing back I am so desperate for money it's not funny.

So I have a nice white button up shirt, business skirt and pants, and a suit jacket. I'm applying for a software development job and I'm very short and can look young so I'm trying to look adult, yet professional. I'm also attractive so I'm trying not to look too sexy. For the career fair I'm thinking of wearing just my nice shirt and a skirt with low heels. My reasoning being it's approachable and attractive without going overboard since the career fair hosts are mostly younger male recent grads. I want to be remembered but not intimidating. For my interviews I was thinking pants, suit jacket (power suit). My reasoning being it'll be older execs and HR people (mostly women) so less sexy with the pants but more powerful with the suit jacket. What do you think?!

I am currently a 1st year irregular college student taking I.T. I transferred schools and my majors never got credited. But it's okay because i am slowly getting the logics in programming in Java. This next semester i am taking a System Analysis and Design(SADSIGN) and i am getting nervous because even though i am pretty good at logics, i am not that good at coding. But since it is a case study, we will be on group, we will be four i think. Project manager, Analyst, Documentation, and the programmer. I am asking what jobs i can get after graduating I.T. because what if i graduated I.T. and still not that good at coding, i am hoping that there will be a jobs that will require less programming. Like Database manager or in Multimedia or in charge of Network. So is there jobs that doesn't require hardcore programming skills?
