What do you think of Matt Smith's performance as the Doctor in Doctor Who?

is he as good as David Tennant, Tom Baker or Patrick Troughton? I think Smith is doing a great job. One lazy bit of writing that seems to have carried over from the Tennent era was using the sonic screwdriver to solve any problem.

"One lazy bit of writing that seems to have carried over from the Tennent era was using the sonic screwdriver to solve any problem." ....... completely agree! Annoys me sometimes.... I mean, it would be so much better to give him a bit of "MacGyver-ish skills" instead of relying on sonic screwdriver all the time... More

I don't think he is as good as David Tennant but he has done a great job of it so far. He is a good actor and people who say they hate him obviously haven't given him a chance, he did a fab job on the christmas special as well.

I appreciate that he has a massive role to file, but Tennant is my one and only for now! Baker is probably a close second, but I would like to take a moment (out of a pretty non-eventful day) to recognise Christopher Eccelston. He was "fantastic" as the Doctor, really. Without him, we wouldn't be talking about it now... More

I think we are all still getting used to the fact that David Tennant is gone. But Matt Smith has done an incredible job. I think the "Child-like" Thing is just that the Doctor changes when he regenerates. And the 11th is more eccentric... More

i think he's doing agood job but i think the ;azy plot device of the doctor just going back in time to leave messages for himself or as he did in the christmas special to over hear what he needs to know will get tired if overused. it seems to be steven moffat reusing what was supposed to be a joke in his comic...
